The first day we hiked about 7 miles to Lunch Lake. This day had a lot of elevation gain, but for the most part it was an easy day. We just about ran into a bear on the trail. A picture of the bear can be seen below, but with the wide angle lens of my disposable camera, it looks farther away than it really was. The hike down from the High Divide trail into the 7 lakes basin is a nasty drop. We ended up spending both nights at Lunch Lake, hiking from there w/o the hindrance of a pack. The second day we hiked to Ho Lake. There we saw a family of three bears playing on the hill side. On the second day we also hiked to Bogachiel Peak. It is well worth the short climb. We were also fortunate enough to see a heard of elk and another bear that same day. That made 5 bears in just 2 days, WOW. The third day was a long 12 miles, all down hill so the feet started to really hurt. This day was totally fogged in so all the expectedly incredible views were wiped out. It turned out to be pretty cool though, just walking through the mist.
